Mobile games revenues are up 10% globally, to a total USD 25,8 billion – whilst subscription-based gaming continued to decline by another 4 percent. Highest grossing publishers in 2015: Activision (USD 2,9 billion), Supercell (USD 1,64 billion) and Tencent (USD 1,62 billion – most of it with cash-cow “League of Legends”). Also interesting: Though mobile games attract most of the general interest, the PC gaming market still is larger (with USD 32 billion revenues in total). Digital console games stay to be a smaller category with a total of USD 4 billion revenues annually.
Superdata seems less optimistic than other sources – predicting a slowing growth in future.
Mobile is already forecasted to make USD 22 billion this year, by overtaking retail as the biggest market-segment.
