Rumors say that Vivendi is now actively looking for potential buyers of its 60 percent stake of video game giant Activision Blizzard. The French media conglomerate could raise up to USD 10 billion – but due to the size, the number of those being interested might be a little limited.
Vivendi´s 61 percent stake might be discussed during a senior executive meeting this month. Stock price has steadily declined last year from about USD 19 to USD 13.
Activision-Blizzard is Vivendi´s fourth largest unit, ownership also includes Canal+, Univeral Media and some phone-operators in France, Morocco and Brazil.
The company´s total revenue for 2011 was flat at EUR 29 billion, but net profits rising 22 percent to EUR 2,68 billion….
